Mea culpa :) I have been outed. Actually, I spent a rather interesting hour or so yesterday night reading about the intricacies of Ion3. Provided I can get a decent config together, I might actually go with that (or Fluxbox) today.

The thing is, I really need a Linux machine because myth plugins can't be compiled anywhere else. So even if the XP worm makes an appearance, I need to chase it away and get my DE working. Who knows, this could be the start of a new era... KDE 3.0 beta and Gnome 1.4 drove me to XFCE; XFCE 4.3SVN might yet drive me to Flux :)

Yes, dammit. Put up another entry!

Drac,

I have been reading and enjoying your recent blog entries. But, this time, I have to comment... Dapper is not ready for use in a production environment yet and I suspect that it won't be for a while. I think you jumped the gun a little by dist-upgrading to Dapper so early. In Ubuntu's defence, they make it very clear that things will be messed up if you go up to Dapper right now.

I tell you what my asseessment of it all is: deep inside the dragon lurks a lothsome worm, the XP-worm (which is soon to bring into the world another offspring, the Vista-worm). The worm seems to have been dormant for a while but has now awaken to force you to upgrade to Dapper in the hope that things will break so you return to Windows. Shamefull, it really is. You don't need an excuse (they broke my icon-box, xfce etc) to go crying back to Windows, just blame the worm.

I really should put up a blog entry soon...
